Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll (Shakira) was born 2 February 1977 in Barranquilla, Colombia) is a Columbian singer songwriter.
She emerged on the music scene in the early 1990s. Her break through single Whenever, Whenever was her first success in the US. In 2010, she partnered with Puig to release her debut fragrance, S by Shakira.
